“Charged double on a trip to the airport and not told in advance”
We just returned from Peru and had a great experience everywhere except in Puno. Due to the strike, we had to leave early to get back to the airport to avoid the crowds and the closed roads. I talked to the front desk of the hotel we were staying at (Casa Andina Puno – I will do another review on them). She gave me the phone who I assumed was from their travel department as they had done the pickup in a Casa Andina van. There were six of us arriving from Juliaca to Puno and the cost was $72. On the way back I was charged $150 from Titicaca Travel. The lady (Mariella) never told me the price, and I had assumed that the price would be the same since I thought I was talking to the Casa Andina travel person. In addition I was told this after arriving at Juliaca airport and the driver demanded cash. They would not allow me to pay with a credit card. Bottom line is that I would not recommend them.

“Friendly Organisers in Puno”
We used the services of the lovely Mariella and Esteban on our recent trip to the Puno/Lake Titicaca area. They were fantastic and so patient in helping us to organise tours both on the lake and in the surrounding area. Our tour on Lake Titicaca was absolutely wonderful – from the floating islands of Uros to the spectacular Taquile Island, we had the best guides, saw the best sights and were treated with respect and friendliness. All the arrangements were efficient and were exactly as advertised. We were even able to change transfers and add attractions on the day which was fantastic. We were also able to arrange a private tour of Chicuito and the Sullistani Incan Burial Towers on very short notice with the very patient and friendly Esteban as our driver and guide. He explained the intriguing history of both sites, took us to eat lunch with the locals in Chicuito and braved encroaching darkness and thunderstorms on the hills at Sullistani, escorting us down the hill with good humour and patience! He then took us to the airport for our late flight to Lima. I would recommend contacting this lovely couple for advice on local sites and tours and I’d definitely use their services again

“great timing”
They had everything on time, pick up time, the guide was in the hotel 10 minutes early, he checked that we had water (he provided more bottles during all the tour), sun cream, hats (the sun is so powerful there), everything, I really feel that he took cares of us. The Lake is amazing, but is better discover the place with a tour guide who loves the people and the culture, Esteban was the best guide in all Peru. About the price, I think was very fair, I found others travel agencies cheaper, (10 to 20 soles less) but talking to the people on the boat, I realize that the have to pay for water. food and entrances, Is so much better just pay for all and enjoy the trip.
